US announces it captured senior Al-Qaeda figure attempting to enter Iraq

United States authorities have announced that they captured Abd Al-Hadi Al-Iraqi, a senior Al-Qaeda leader reportedly close to Osama Bin Ladin, when he attempted to enter Iraq. Al-Hadi commanded A-Q operations in Pakistan, and was believed to be a member of the Shura umbrella organisation. It has been reported that Al-Hadi was captured in October 2006,. but this has not been verified.
