FinCEN clarifies guidance issued on requests by law enforcement

On 13 June, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network issued a guidance entitled " Requests by Law Enforcement for Financial Institutions to Maintain Accounts," concerning actions to be taken upon the request of law enforcement to maintain an account that exhibits suspicious or criminal activity. FinCEN has today published a Bulletin further clarifying the appropriate procedure, and the regulatory requirements. We have posted a link to the Bulletin below.
