Alert on three banks searched by authorities

It has been reported that three Russian commercial banks have been searched by the authorities on suspicion of illegal banking. Whether they will be amongst the current crop of Moscow-based financial institutions whose licenses have been revoked for money laundering and counter terrorist financing violations is not known, but we list them here in to alert to our readers at international banks with Russian correspondents.
Please note that none of these institutions has, as of this writing, been charged with any crimes, infractions or regulatory violations.
A number of Russian banks are presently under the microscope for disbursing large amounts of currency to clients under suspicious circumstances, but we do not know whether the above banks are amongst this group.
- Master Bank, also known as Mactep Bank.
- Lefko-Bank. also known as Lefco-Bank.
- The Bank of Project Funding ( this name is not known to the writer).
