FinCEN publishes semi-annual SAR Activity Report

The Financial Crimes Enforcement network (FinCEN) has published the 12th issue of "SAR Activity Review Tips and Issues," which contains information concerning the rise in SAR reporting on the use of Convenience Cheques. If you are not aware of this, read below.

Convenience Checques are counter cheques that are often distributed (free & and unsolicited) to credit-card holders, inprinted with the card information. When tendered for payment, deposited or cashed, The amount used is added to the balance. To learn about the illicit use of these instruments, see:
