Emanuel Zeltser, the New York lawyer/AML expert imprisoned in Belarus upon arrival in Minsk on 12 March, has been placed in a forensic psychiatry department, and will undergo a psychiatric examination, according to Belarusian media sources. Zeltser, who heads the American-Russian Law Institute, is reported to have been the attorney for the late Arkady "Badri" Patarkatshisvili*, and for Pavel Borodin**, and was also involved in a case featuring the Bank of New York. His arrest seems to have decidedly political overtones.
