The Office of Foreign Assets Control, OFAC, has named a number of Colombian companies as Specially Designated Nationals in connection with the designation of a number of narcotics traffickers who own and control those entities. Compliance officers at international banks whose customers trade with Colombia should immediately run the World-Check data-file against their client list, to ascertain whether any newly OFAC-designated entities are customers.
