World-Check alerts our users to the latest OFAC additions.  The US Office of Foreign Assets Control named  23 individuals and 19 entities Specially Designated Narcotics Trafficker Kingpin (SDNTK) all from Mexico.  They have been added to the World-Check database.  Please click here to read the full OFAC press release.

Following on the success of our two e-Newsletters "From a Different Angle" and the "Intelligence Briefing" which reach out to approximately 20,000 compliance professionals World-Check has launched its terrorism focused e-Newsletter the "Terrorism Briefing." It is a free, monthly newsletter which features news, information and expert analysis on terrorism related individuals and businesses, and the risk they pose to financial institutions. The T-brief aims to promote awareness of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT)) developments including details of emerging issues and expert opinion, in its "Expert Talk" section. World-Check has changed the look of its portal menu to incorporate some new sections and make it easier to navigate. Users will notice that our menu headings have changed. Everything is still there plus some exciting new additions. Under Editorial you will find a drop down menu where you can, with just a click go to read "From a Different Angle", Confessions of a Money Launderer and our new addition "Expert Talk" which contains counter-terrorism financing focused analysis articles. The Newsletters section will lead you to your old favourites "From A Different Angle" e-Newsletter and the "Intelligence Briefing" plus our new addition the "Terrorism Briefing", there is also a dedicated subscription page for your convenience. The Library section contains White Papers this has recently been updated with informative Terrorism analysis. The Media section houses our Press Releases and Press Articles. Finally the Events section now not only shows General Events but also Kenneth Rijock's World-Tour details and a link through to the website of World-Check's highly successful Compliance Leadership Forum. The United States’ Office of Financial Assets Control (OFAC) has named six Colombian nationals as Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers (SDNT), together with three corporate entities controlled by these individuals. World-Check can confirm that its researchers had already profiled four of the six designated individuals as early as 2003.  Read more here.

The latest addition to the UN 1267 sanction list was identified and profiled by World-Check in late 2004. Being ahead of an official sanction list once again underscores the reason why World-Check’s database is the early warning system of choice for thousands of financial institutions and regulatory government agencies across the globe. In  February 2004 , World-Check identified and profiled Perry Wharrie one of the four suspects arrested in connection with the recent failed cocaine smuggling operation along the Irish coast. More than 60 bales of cocaine have been retrieved from the sea thus far, with a reported value of between £100 million and £300 million. World-Check announces an upgrading of its unique News-Check functionality. The News-Check search engine has been tweaked to provide users with a more effective search, resulting in more risk relevant articles being returned from users queries. 

World-Check is pleased to announce that an additional feature has been added to the Data-file downloads. The deleted profiles Data-file will now be available as both a Daily Deleted Profile Download - which contains only profiles that have been delated in the previous 24 hours and in the original format as a Complete Download with full data of all deleted profiles.
