OFAC Alert - Syrian businessman designated

On February 21, 2008, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) designated Rami Makhluf, 'a powerful Syrian businessman and regime insider whom improperly benefits from and aids the public corruption of Syrian regime officials'.
