ONLINE

English

World-Check Online is a web-based risk screening service enabling users to instantly check individual or organisation names against the full World-Check data set. Its quick search functionalities allow users to identify any potential risks the person, organisation or their associates may hold. It also allows for at-a-glance verification during the remediation of automatic screening outputs.

Incorporating Passport-Check, it also verifies the authenticity of ‘machine readable’ (MRZ) passports from more than 180 countries. The integration of name checking and ID checking into one process provides both commercial and government clients with a unique solution for meeting stringent international Customer Identification (CIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) obligations.

Content and Coverage

World-Check’s database provides comprehensive profiles of high risk and ‘potentially’ heightened risk individuals and entities and those associated with them, in more than 240 countries and territories. Politically Exposed Persons, terrorists and organised crime; money launderers and fraudsters amongst many other categories - are all profiled and linked to offer a complex network of public information. In addition, World-Check  correlates every known sanction and embargo list from around the world,  including both debarred and banned parties, such as OFAC, UK HMT, EU, UN, OSFI, FATF, the Australian DFAT, USA CFTC, World Bank, SECO, Interpol, CBII, IFSRA and USA ICE, among others.

World-Check’s intelligence  is constantly being updated and enhanced by our multi-lingual teams of researchers based around the world. Each profile contains over 20 different fields ranging from identification fields like Name, Last Name, Aliases, Nationality and Date of Birth to more risk-specific  information such as official lists, PEP categorisation, a synopsis offering a concise summary of the information found and lists of companies and associates reported to be linked to the profiled entity in question. Moreover, all the original sources used to create each profile are included as hyperlinks to allow for verification of content.

Free research requests

World-Check customers are permitted to anonymously submit  research requests regarding any person or entity about whom they may have a question or suspicion. They may also recommended changes to profiles listed in the database, along with a rationale.  Upon receipt, World-Check uses its extensive methodologies for investigation and updates its intelligence, as appropriate.

Search capabilities

World-Check Online provides users with multiple search options, including by Name, Keyword, Official Lists, Country, Category or any combination of these.  For example, a keyword search on Al Qaeda results in a list of all profiles containing the word Al Qaeda.  Users can also conduct searches on all entities within any given sanction list for example; OFAC, UK HMT, UNO.  A Category search on the other hand allows users to search for an individual or entity listed within a specific group such as ‘financial crime’ or ‘terrorism’.  To refine  search results users can also select two or more additional fields.

Proof of due diligence

To satisfy regulators and management requirements, search results can be printed, emailed or saved electronically. Whether resulting in a ‘Hit’ (i.e. the person/entity is profiled in the World-Check database) or in a ‘No Hit’ (i.e. there was no match) – both results are proof of best due diligence and should be printed and filed. By selecting the Full Report option, a detailed report of the intelligence cited will be generated in seconds including links to the sources, a full synopsis and the individual’s status within the sanction and embargo lists monitored by World-Check. Comments or notes can also be added for future reference.

Graphic display

Relationship networks are often very complex and well hidden. World-Check’s recognized success has partly been due to the in-depth research carried out to identify individuals and connect them to their associates and legal entities. A database confirming an individual is a senior politician but which fails to reveal risk-relevant information, is of little assistance in meeting legislative requirements for KYC and PEP identification. World-Check is differentiated in that it uncovers the potential risk in relationship networks and now through its purpose-built visualisation tool - Graphic Display - it produces instant mapping of complex relationships enabling for more efficient investigation of non-obvious second and third degree relationships - where the real risk often lies.

Passport-Check

The Online service has the added benefit of providing subscribers access to Passport-Check, a cutting edge solution that verifies the authenticity of  machine readable passports, thereby both confirming the identity of customers whilst screening them against the World-Check database in seconds. The integration of name checking and ID document checking into one process provides both commercial and government clients with a unique solution to match the stringent international know-your-customer due diligence obligations.

News-Check

Also accessible through World-Check’s Online service is News-Check – a news crawler functionality that allows you to access the latest negative news on any individual or company you may be reviewing. All this information is stored behind each profile giving you instant, up to the minute information.

Security Policy

World-Check’s foremost priority is privacy and security. Encryption technology stops third parties from tapping into the communication between servers. Our confidentiality guarantees your anonymity; there is no monitoring, no audit trail, no records kept of any search undertaken.  World-Check’s anonymity policy is regularly audited by KPMG. No other service offers this degree of security.

Access & Training

Access to World-Check Online is by password only. An annual subscription gives you unlimited access not only to the World-Check database but also to Passport-Check and News-Check. There is no limit as to the number of searches, print-outs, suspicious name reporting or usage of our added features such as the Graphic Display or our Full Report generating functionalities. Access to our online service provides users with a full range of tools that efficiently assist in meeting international regulations. Our Customer Support team provides every new user with full comprehensive training to ensure World-Check is used to its full potential. Additionally customer support is available around the clock.

In this way sensitive customer information can be checked in-house for maximum data security and privacy.
