London, 11 March 2010 -- Titled “Piracy in the Horn of Africa” this paper addresses how the cash based character of modern piracy, combined with a concentration in failed states and poorly regulated countries, has rendered traditional law enforcement frameworks largely ineffective.

London, 26 February 2010 -- World-Check has launched a new range of Due Diligence reports and a second generation version of ISIS, the Integrascreen Due Diligence Management service.The Integrascreen reports have been given simpler names and a new design that improves readability, while maintaining the same overall layout.ISIS will help to reduce the burden of compliance as the new system provides quick and easy online ordering along with case tracking and a report repository to simplify internal due diligence processes. The system also enables compliance officers to store and review reports whenever needed.

London, 24 February 2010 -- World-Check head of terrorism research, John Solomon will present an expert seminar at this event to be held between 21 and 22 March.  Topics to be discussed at the summit include best practise techniques to negate fraud threats, new and emerging fraud techniques affecting the financial services industry, and ways of strengthening the relationship between regulators and financial institutions.

London, 23 February 2010 –- World-Check senior consultant, Patric Marshall, will be a guest speaker at this annual summit, which focuses on the protection, prevention and investigation of fraud, corruption and financial crime. The Summit is organised by the MIS Training Institute EMEA, and will be held from 17 to 19 March. Mr. Marshall will present a seminar on best practise anti corruption tools and anti money laundering techniques.

London, 18 February 2010 – The arrest of 22 executives last month in the U.S. highlights the need for extra vigilance when dealing with foreign agents and intermediaries. The executives reportedly agreed to pay a 20% commission to a sales agent they thought represented the defense minister of a foreign country, and now stand accused of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
